Terenten, boasting the most sunshine hours per year, is located at 1,210 m on the Pustertal Sun Road and offers many outdoor activities and natural wonders. The name "Torrentum" means “mountain stream” and indicates the location between the Terner and Winnebach streams.

In summer, Terenten is a hiker’s paradise with trails to the Astnerbergalm, Tiefrastenhütte, and the peaks Eidechsspitze and Hochgrubbachspitze. In winter, Terenten offers a beginner lift, the Kronplatz is nearby, and a sledding trip from the Pertinger Alm to the Nunewieser mountain inn is a must.
